An Irish Pilgrimage

Here is an example of a pilgrimage tour to Ireland that we operated for the Diocese of Alabama a few years ago. 

Day 1 DEPARTURE

Depart Atlanta/Birmingham en route for Dublin

Day 2 - ARRIVE IN DUBLIN (2 nights)
Trinity College Library including the Book of Kells

Day 3 - DUBLIN
Tour of Christ Church Cathedral, Museum of Ireland. Free afternoon in Dublin

Day 4 -  DUBLIN – GLENDALOUGH - CASHEL (1 night)
Monastery Ruins, Lunch at pub in Hollywood with live Irish music

Day 5 -  CASHEL-BLARNEY-TRALEE (4 nights)
Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, Blarney Mills Woolen Store(outlet for Waterford Crystal and other Irish products,) Siamsa Tire

Day 6 -   DINGLE PENINSULA
Beehive huts, Galarus Oratory, Blasket Islands Centre,

Day 7 -  KERRY
Ardfert Cathedral, Killarney, Muckross House
Evening dinner at Kate Kearney’s Cottage, near Killarney

Day 8 - Ring of Kerry
Scenic driving tour of the famous Ring of Kerry, with stops at the town of Cahirciveen and the Skellig Experience, a museum about the building of the monastery on the nearby island of Skellig Michael.

Day 9 -  TRALEE – BUNRATTY – ENNIS (2 nights)
Bunratty Castle and park, Free time in Ennis

Day 10 -  COUNTY CLARE AND GALWAY
Cliffs of Moher, Yeats’ Tower(Thoor Ballylee), Clonfert Cathedral

Day 11  ENNIS – NAVAN (2 nights)

Clonmacnoise, Strokestown Park House/Famine Museum

Day 12 -  KELLS AND TARA
Kells Monastery, Hill of Tara, free afternoon in Dublin for additional sightseeing of your choice or shopping

Day 13 -  DEPARTURE FROM DUBLIN
Transfer to airport for return flight
