Resident choir in Rochester Cathedral
Rochester is a city on the banks of the River Medway in Kent. After St.Augustine christianised the King of Kent in 597AD, he continued inland and founded Rochester Cathedral. It is therefore England's second oldest cathedral. Also in Rochester is a 13th century castle once besieged by King John. Rochester is famous for its associations with the great novelist Charles Dickens. It is close to London and, as you will see from the itinerary below, within easy reach of a wonderful range of sightseeing options.
