A Choral Tour of Mercia
Mercia is the old Saxon name for the kingdom occupying the centre of England. It has a rich choral tradition most notably with the "Three Choirs Festival" (The three choirs are from Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester Cathedrals). Sir Edward Elgar was born near Worcester and this tour also includes visits to Stratford, Oxford, Malvern, Bath and London. Leominster Parish Church is a Norman former abbey church and is renowned for the excellent quality of its acoustics.
