Dylan Thomas
Dylan Thomas was born in Swansea in the Uplands area and you can see his
house from the outside at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive.
However, it is with the nearby village of Laugharne (pronounced Larne)
that he is probably more closely connected. "The Boat House" on the
dramatic estuary is where he was inspired to write some of his best work,
including Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night. He also spent a
great deal of time in Laugharne's pubs and Under Milk Wood was written about
some of the characters he met in them.
If you walk up the road to the churchyard you will find Thomas's grave together
with that of his wife Caitlin.
