Starry Nights This is one of a series of art tours of France that we have operated for a group led by the art and French professors of a North Carolina college. We left several afternoons free for painting with artists being inspired by working in St.Remy de Provence in the grounds where Van Gogh painted so often. France is a pretty inspiring place for painters no matter where one goes. Our tour operations department had to write to a Baron to arrange the vineyard visit and to a nun to arrange the visit to Matisse's chapel in Vence. Both were very accommodating. Day 1 IN FLIGHT Depart USA for Paris
Day 2 ROUEN (2 nights) Arrive in Paris, bus to Giverny and then to Rouen. Monet’s House and Gardens, Walking Tour of Rouen.
Day 3 ROUEN Morning trip to Honfleur, early afternoon return to Rouen. Musee Boudin in Honfleur, Musee des Beaux Arts in Rouen.
Day 4 PARIS (4 nights) Auvers-sur-Oise - Paris Auberge Ravoux (Where Van Gogh spent his last days), Van Gogh’s grave and sites painted by Van Gogh and Pissarro in Auvers, Evening Seine Cruise in Paris.
Day 5 PARIS Paris Louvre, Notre-Dame, and Sainte Chapelle
Day 6 PARIS Paris Musee d’Orsay, Afternoon free for painting or other activities.
Day 7 PARIS Morning free for museum of your choice. Afternoon trip to St.Denis. Dinner and walk in Montmartre Basilica of St.Denis, Walking Tour of Montmartre including Sacre-Coeur.
Day 8 ST.REMY DE PROVENCE (3 nights) Morning transfer for early TGV to Avignon Afternoon Walking Tour of Avignon including admission to the Pope’s Palace.
Day 9 ST.REMY DE PROVENCE St. Remy de Provence St.Paul de Mausole including walking tour of grounds where Van Gogh painted some famous works. Afternoon free for painting.
Day 10 ST.REMY DE PROVENCE Arles and Les Baux Roman Arena and Van Gogh sites in Arles (including Hotel de Dieu and Café de la Nuit), Castle at Les Baux.
Day 11 VENCE (1 night) Aix-en-Provence, Vence Cezanne's Studio, Vineyard Visit and Picnic, Matisse Chapel
Day 12 NICE (2 Nights) St.Paul de Vence, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Nice Auberge de la Colombe d’Or, Fondation Maeght, Renoir’s House
Day 13 NICE Musee Marc Chagall, Afternoon free for painting or other activities
Day 14 DEPARTURE Transfer to airport for flight back to the USA
