Introducing England

This tour is a wonderful introduction to many of the most famous and exciting landmarks in southern England.  It would make a marvelous overview for any school group that is studying history, literature or English language and culture.

Day 1 FLIGHT TO LONDON -  WINCHESTER -  SALISBURY (3 nights)

Fly direct to London.  We will visit Winchester Cathedral and Castle  on our way to Salisbury.

 

Day 2 SALISBURY, OLD SARUM AND STONEHENGE

We will go to ancient Stonehenge and the remains of the castle at Old Sarum.  In Salisbury, we will visit the Cathedral and have some free time.

 

Day 3  DAY TRIP TO BATH

 Our visit to Bath will include the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey,  and the Jane Austen Museum

 

Day 4  SALISBURY - OXFORD - STRATFORD UPON AVON (2 nights)

We will take a Walking Tour of Oxford, including a guided tour of Christ Church College.

 

Day 5 STRATFORD UPON AVON

Our visits to Shakespeare's home town will include his Birthplace, Holy Trinity Church and Anne Hathaway's Cottage.  This evening (depending on availability) we will see a production at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

 

Day 6 STRATFORD - WARWICK CASTLE - LONDON (3 nights)

On our way to the capital, we will visit historic Warwick Castle. On arrival, we will take a driving tour of the major landmarks.

 

Day 7 LONDON

We will visit Westminster Abbey before cruising down the Thames to The Tower of London.

 

Day 8 LONDON

A day dedicated to the sightseeing of your choice (suggestions: the London Eye, British Museum, National Gallery, The London Dungeons, tour and/or drama workshop at the Globe Theatre)

 

Day 9 DEPARTURE FROM LONDON

Fly home directly from London.
