Choral Tradition in Wales

 

Wales is the traditional home of the male voice choir.  This tour will introduce your choir to some of the loveliest sights in Wales whilst also providing opportunities for singing on your own and with Welsh choirs.

St. David's Cathedral

 

Day 1             DEPARTURE FROM USA

Departure from USA on your flight to London.

 

Day 2              LONDON - BATH - CARDIFF (2 nights) 

Arrival in London.  Drive to Cardiff with en route sightseeing in Bath (Roman Baths/Pump Rooms)

                       

Day 3              CARDIFF  

Morning sightseeing tour of Cardiff to include entrance to Cardiff Castle, Evening Medieval Banquet at Cardiff Castle.

Possible concert with the Cardiff Male Choir, the Newport Male Choir, the Penarth Male Choir or the Pontypridd Male Choir

 

Day 4             CARDIFF -  BRECON BEACONS OR RHONDDA VALLEY - SWANSEA (2 nights)

Drive to Swansea with en route sightseeing of the Brecon Beacons or the Rhondda Valley

 

Day 5               SWANSEA

Sightseeing of Swansea to include the Maritime Quarter, the Dylan Thomas Centre and the Guildhall

Possible concert with the Swansea Male Choir or the Llanelli Male Choir

 

Day 6               SWANSEA - CARMARTHEN - TENBY (2 nights)       

Drive to Tenby with en route sightseeing of Carmarthen (including the castle).

 

Day 7               TENBY

Morning sightseeing of Tenby including the Five Arches and the Tudor Merchant’s House.

Evening meal in a partly medieval restaurant next to the Tudor Merchant’s House

Possible concert with the Tenby Male Choir or Pembroke & District Male Choir

 

Day 8                TENBY - HAVERFORD WEST - ST.DAVID'S (2 nights)

Drive to St David’s  with en route sightseeing of Haverfordwest

 

Day 9                ST. DAVID'S

Sightseeing of St David’s including the Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace

Possible concert in St David’s Cathedral

 

Day 10              ST. DAVID'S - LAUGHARNE - CARMARTHEN (2 nights)

Drive to Carmarthen  with en route visit to Laugharne with a visit to The Boathouse (Dylan Thomas) and the Castle.  

 

Day 11               CARMARTHEN

Sightseeing of Carmarthen and the area to include the National Woollen Museum, Aberglasney Gardens, Carmarthen CountyMuseum or the West Wales Centre for the Crafts.

Possible concert with Carmarthen Male Choir

 

Day 12               CARMARTHEN - CAERPHILLY - CARDIFF (1 night) 

Drive to Cardiff  with en route sightseeing of Caerphilly Castle

 

Day 13               DEPARTURE

Drive to London for flight back to the US
