An East Anglian Interlude East Anglia is an area that is not visited all that often by American groups but it contains some of England's finest choral venues - in particular the Lady Chapel at Ely Cathedral. This is a tour that Richardson and Gray operated for an adult Episcopal church choir from Virginia in 1999. It shows the rehearsal and concert times as we arranged. The group members had mostly visited Britain before so we were able to avoid the more crowded "must see" sights. To accommodate those who had not visited Britain before, we arranged for a free day where they could go to London. A good time was had by all. Photo: Punting on the Cam |

Day 1 Depart the USA for London OVERNIGHT ON THE FLIGHT
Day 2 Arrive in London, bus transfer to Ely.Remainder of day to recuperate in Ely EIGHT NIGHTS IN ELY
Day 3 Wednesday Day trip to Bury St. Edmunds (Market day) Guided walking tour of the Abbey ruins (Important pilgrimage destination during the Middle Ages). Rehearsal in St Edmundsbury Cathedral at 12 immediately after the 11.00am service finishes. 1.00pm concert in St. Edmundsbury Cathedral
Day 4 Day trip to Cambridge with return to Ely after dinner. Walking tour of Cambridge with specialist guide. Opportunity to attend Evensong at King’s College Chapel. Dinner in Cambridge at leisure
Day 5 Remain in Ely Guided Tour of Ely Cathedral at 1.15pm after Concert Rehearsal at 11.00am in the Lady Chapel, Ely Cathedral 12.30pm concert in the Lady Chapel, Ely Cathedral
Day 6 Day trip to Lavenham with am tour of Constable CountryCoach Tour of Constable Country with stops. Walking tour of Lavenham.with local guide 4.00 rehearsal in Lavenham Parish Church 5.30pm Evensong in Lavenham Parish Church Dinner in Lavenham
Day 7 Free Day in Ely
Day 8 Day trip to Oxford Walking tour of Oxford including guided tour of Christ Church. 4.30 rehearsal in Christ Church College Chapel 6.00pm Evensong in Christ Church College Chapel Dinner in Oxford at leisure
Day 9 Day trip to Norwich Rehearsal in Norwich Cathedral just after 11.00 Concert in Norwich Cathedral at 1.00pm
Day 10 Transfer to airport for flight back to the USA |
