A Unitarian Journey in England and Scotland

This is a choral tour that we designed for a Unitarian church from Colorado. It includes wonderful visits in both England and Scotland as well as opportunities to sing for and get to know local Unitarian congregations.

Day 1     FLIGHT

Depart USA en route for London

 

Day 2     ARRIVAL IN LONDON (3 nights)

Visit Windsor Castle or Hampton Court Palace on way into London, free time in London

                                               

Day 3     LONDON

Free day in London

 

Day 4     DAY TRIP TO IPSWICH

On the way to Ipswich, we will visit Sutton Hoo, where the famous Anglo-Saxon treasure was found.  In Ipswich, we will tour Christchurch Mansion (Tudor mansion with an excellent collection of Constable and Gainsborough).

Evening concert at the Unitarian Church in Ipswich

 

Day 5    LONDON – STRATFORD UPON AVON – CHESTER (2 nights)

Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Holy Trinity Church

  

Day 6     CHESTER

Walking Tour of Chester’s Medieval walls,

Chester Cathedral.  Free time in Chester.

Evening social time or concert with the Macclesfield Unitarian Church

 

Day 7     CHESTER – SHEFFIELD – YORK( 2 nights)

Introductory Walking Tour of York

Concert at the Unitarian Church in Sheffield on the way to York.

 

Day 8       YORK

Take part in the service at the Unitarian Church, Guided Tour of York Minster, Free time in York

Evening Ghost Walk of York

 

Day 9      YORK-EDINBURGH (2 nights)

Drive to Scotland.  Visit Edinburgh Castle

 

Day 10     EDINBURGH

Free time in Edinburgh.  Farewell dinner.

 

Day 11     DEPARTURE       

Transfer to airport for flight back home
